The winter weather is gloomy, dark and the chill is in the air. It has been taking every last bit of my energy to not wrap up in blanket and call it until next season. But, the show must go on. My style has always been very colorful, light and bright matching my personality. Although, as a hair stylist Ive always been told to wear black, black ,black and more black.
Its just not me.
Don't get me wrong I love black, black is my favorite shade for when I'm feeling dramatic or introverted. It is the most understated and overrated color (or shade) there is. But how do you balance black when you want to still have life in your wardrobe.
The answer is Monochromatic Feels.
Monochromatic colors are living within the same hue. Blacks in different shades, textures and color variations. Grays and whites blending through to create an overcasting mood. I love to see the layers of cozy warm sweaters with black ripped jeans and oversized jackets with a classic black boot. All within the same monochromatic family. Its very understated and fashion forward to look clean and chic, while being simple but not basic.
Below are some of my favorite inspiration photos for the winter.
