To Botox or Not to Botox
To Botox or Not to Botox.
The answer is always Botox. I’ve been getting Botox now for the last 6 months, and I could not be happier with the results. Yes, I am 26 years old and yes, I do have wrinkles or “fine lines” and they bothered me. Specifically, the lines inside my eyebrows, which I learned is your 11. Once I started to realize that after I made the facial expression and the lines did not go away I decided to do some research and look into my options.
I scoured the internet reading blog after blog and article after article to find out what I already knew, I needed Botox. I have been using topical crèmes and gels on my face since I was 18 and they help but they don’t prevent. I also do a ton of exfoliation but there was no exfoliation that was making my lines go away. I talked for years about starting Botox early and it was now or never.
I booked my appointment for a consultation and was ready to dive in if the coast was clear. I decided to go to a Med spa; Glo Med Spa, because I had heard good reviews from my clients. A Nurse, Kristen talked with me for 30 minutes about different options, peels, facials, lasers, micro needling ex. Before she said the golden words, BOTOX. It was music to my ears, a few small injections and I could not only treat my lines but I could PREVENT them.
I decided to proceed, she came up with a game plan for my skin to start Botox and to do facials and a skin treatment before my wedding to get the best results. I had to have a small health overview by a P.A. and I was in the clear to get my injections. We decided to go with a total of 17 units, 15 in my 11’s and 2 in my forehead. I got the first 15 and went back two weeks later for my “touch up” and proceeded to get the rest. I noticed results after 3 days and was obsessed, my lines were gone and my skin looked smooth and amazing, I still had some movement in my forehead but it was much smoother and looked very relaxed.
I was scared of the side effects of Botox and honestly, I didn’t have any. I had a very small bruise that lasted 2 days and a slight headache for 2-3 days but it was not bad at all. The injections themselves were not painful I didn’t feel anything until she pushed the injection in and it just stings for a minute.
I started to notice more movement in my face, about 3 months later and was ready to go back and get my next round. If you aren’t sure if you want to continue you don’t have to, it continuously fades out very naturally. The sooner you do it the more you will prevent lines and wrinkles, I hope to always look fresh and youthful and I am willing to put time, money, and effort to do so. I hope this helps if you are interested in Botox, I have loved my results and I will continue to get it done.
